Though Chad Selph's sibling all but ignored the piano their mother bought for the family home, Selph naturally gravitated to the instrument. Since his mother planted the seed of music in his mind, Selph has continuously taken steps to grow his musical knowledge, improve his musical skills, and display his talent for performing and composing music.
He began piano lessons at age eight, and eagerly played what he would learn during the lessons for the other students in his elementary school music class. By high school, he was participating in regional and all-state jazz bands as a pianist. His senior year in high school, Berklee alumnus and drummer Terri Lynne Carrington presented Selph with Berklee's Outstanding Musicianship award.
His decision to study at Berklee had just as much to do with Berklee's recognition of his talent and skills as it did with Selph's awareness of the fact that the prestigious music school had much tot offer him as a musician. Growing up in Middletown, Connecticut, Selph's early experiences with music involved playing and listening to gospel, jazz, and hip hop. Over time, his desire to merge these three distinct but similar sounds has evolved into an ability to build upon the musical traditions of those genres. Selph recognized that Berklee would allow him to practice and learn about the music that influences and inspires him, and teach him new ways to fuse those sounds.
Now in his third semester at Berklee, Selph has already performed at popular music venues around Boston like Wally's, The Regattabar, All Asia Bar, Paradise Lounge, and Fenway Park, and has performed with and for local, national, and international music luminaries like, Patrice Rushen, Esperanza Spalding, Frank Mcomb, Christian Scott, Mike Clark, Walter Beasley, Roy Ayers,
Aleta Adams, Doobie Powell, Ace Livingston, Ralph Peterson, Mickey Factz, Jetro Da Silva, Dave Santora, Nat Reeves, and more. His constant pursuit of musical knowledge and efforts to build a network with other musicians and music educators will ensure that Selph stays on the path that will lead him to the highest possible point in his musicianship.

“I never was into fads or the ‘New Look’, just style. Changing your style and look on a daily basis is electrifying! I’m not the type to sit and watch award shows, videos, or look at fashion magazines; I rather read a book or watch cartoons. I do what I please, no rules in this life of Fashion. Who cares what celebrity is wearing what? I do not want to look or feel like the person standing beside me; that’s what ‘S.Garvey’ exemplifies.
“BE WHO YOU ARE AND LET IT SHINE” -Samantha Garvey
Born Diomara Xionida Delvalle, in Brooklyn, NY to two parents native to Colon, Panama, where she lived amongst her fellow Caribbean and Latino peers on Flatbush Avenue and being immersed in the American musical culture of Soul and R&B led to the diversity of DioMara’s musical palette to say the least. Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, and Marc Anthony are just a few of DioMara's musical and vocal inspirations. District and All State Music Festivals in her teenage years added the Western European musical styles to this already diverse palette. This led to DioMara’s ability to deliver any musical style. She believes there are no barriers to creativity and refuses to be limited to mediocrity.
DioMara; she lives your reality but is the protagonist of your darkest twisted fantasies. DioMara has the ability to occupy every human sense and with those elements combined will have your appetite begging for more. The Apollo Theatre; where legends such as The Jackson Five, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and many more graced the stage, became the very first memorable place DioMara revealed her talents. The Apollo audience being described as difficult would be considered an understatement. They wanted the best of the best and DioMara, then 15 years old, was prepared to deliver. She rang victorious and went on to play the stage 2 more times. This was just the beginning of a very fruitful career for her.
“My recipe for life is not being afraid of myself, afraid of what I think or of my opinions” – Eartha Kitt
Empowering, virtuous, provocative and stirring the affections and senses of the individual are all descriptive of DioMara’s disposition, sound and image; the qualities of her emotion filled music. She believes in living outside the norm, embracing her flaws as beautiful, and letting her voice be heard despite adversity.
DioMara, being a multi-dimensional woman, is a budding revolutionary and an established visionary and will execute every concept of success.
